Editor's comment Sowerby & Sowerby's figures of Galeolaria decumbens are unmistakably G. caespitosa. His (their) later attribution of material from the Cape (in Mörch 1863: 369-370) should most probably be attributed to Pomatoleios kraussii. Schmarda's (1861) Pomatoceros caeruleus from Cape of Good Hope most probably are P. kraussii, that from New Zealand, however, Spirobranchus cariniferus. Sp. maldivensis non Pixell sensu Wesenberg-Lund (1949) and present in the Zool. Mus. Copenhagen too is a cluster of P. kraussii. [details]
