The inclusion of Axosuberites Topsent, 1893 (type species Axosuberites fauroti Topsent, 1893, by monotypy) into synonymy with Axociella Hallmann. 1920 (type species Esperiopsis cylindrica Ridley & Dendy, 1886, by original designation) (Van Soest, 1984b; Hooper, 1996a) unfortunately requires that the former name takes precedence, based on seniority, a fact overlooked by Hooper (1996a).
