Description Oceanic and mesopelagic. Occurs near the surface to about 225 m at night and in deeper waters during the day. Large males partially or non-migratory (Ref. 4066). Exhibits dwarfing in minimum region off Brazil with maximum SL about 36 mm and sexual maturity from about 27 mm (Ref. 4479). Spawns mainly in summer in Hawaii (Ref. 4775). [details]
