Description This subfamily encompasses the most advanced Loeblichioidea, which give rise to the primitive Fusulinida; i.e., those with dainellid first whorls followed by a few whorls more or less planispiral. Chambers subquadratic, not sutured. Periphery rounded to carinate. Chomata variously developed. Wall microgranular with a luminotheca. Aperture terminal, basal, and simple.
Occurrence. Late early Tournaisian–late Serpukhovian; Palaeotethyan and Uralian shelves; rare genera seem to be cosmopolitan.
