Description Description of Western Indian Ocean specimens: Irregular branches, fingers or blades arising from a spreading base. Size extremely variable; surface irregular with scattered oscules, 2-3 mm in diameter. Body just compressible, crumbly, velvety and very sticky when crushed. Surface rich golden brown, pinkish-orange tinges below surface; light brown or cream within. Habitat: shallow lagoons, fringing reefs. Distribution: Indo-Pacific (Richmond, 1997). [details]
