Synonymy A forma of Hippasteria leiopelta Fisher, 1910. Would be a junior secondary homonym of aculeata Barrett, 1857 (as Astrogonium) if that had not been synonymized with Hippasteria phrygiana (Pareliu, 1768) by Sladen (1889). [details]
