Description Length: (excluding tail streamers) 38-43 cm. Colour: adult white with wing-tip, diagonal bar on the wing coverts, crescent through eye and some flank feathers black; bill yellow; legs yellow, feet black; immature white heavily barred black above and no streamers. Habitat: tropical seas near islands and at times off shore near mainland, not seen far out at sea. (<313><316><318>). Distribution: open ocean off the whole eastern african coast. [details]
