Nomenclature Akesson (1975) published several Ophryotrocha nomina nuda. Quote: "In my laboratory I have cultivated 10 species, five of which are new. One of the new species, O. maculata, is described (Akesson, 1973 a). As for the others, O. macrovifera, O. robusta, O. adherens, and O. diadema, I am using the names under which the species are to be described. I will try to publish those descriptions before the symposium volume is issued." Subsequently Paxton & Akesson (2010 and 2011) resolve these Ophrytrocha nomina nuda, except for those for which a laboratory culture no longer existed. [details]
