Distribution Sepia orbignyana is a southern species which probably does not belong to the Belgian fauna (Duchamps, 1972). However, Eneman & Kerckhof (1983) have found shells of this species on the seashores of 'De Panne' and Muus (1963) has mentioned this species as present in the Southern North Sea as well as in the English channel.
