Type material A holotype for S. curvidactyla was not designated but syntypes were collected by Princesse-Alice II, from the North Atlantic, off Portugal, stn. 2885 [40°19’N 13°11’W], 0–3000 m, 11 August 1909 (4 juv.) & stn. 3021 [38°46’N 10°10’W], 0–1550 m, 31 August 1909 (female, 2 juv.) and from the Mediterranean Sea, off Spain, stn. 2910 [37°46’10’’N 00°05’W], 0–520 m, 28 August 1909 (male) & stn. 2926 [39°36’N 05°56’E], 0–2800 m, 7 september 1909 (2 males). The syntypes from stn. 3021 are in Monaco, on a microscope slide. The diagnosis is of a male (6 mm) from stn. 2926. [details]
