Hornibrook showed that Finlay (1940) was wrong in assuming halophora was a Laticarinina and that the syntypes were indeed Lagenida belonging to the genus Planularia. The combination Laticarinina halophora has been widely used for the common typical Laticarinina which is acceoted as L. pauperata.
