Etymology The generic name is taken from a personal name in Don Quixote. The type species C. longipes, gives no clue as to the gender (one termination for all genders), but the inclusion by Stebbing (1888) of Sars' Tritropis appendiculata under this genus as C. appendiculatus, indicates the gender is masculine.
