Etymology In a footnote on page 20 McIntosh states Nephthys hombergii var. kersivalensi is named for "the old name of Lochmaddy, North-Uist, where it is plentiful [details]
Taxonomy McIntosh described Nephtys kersivalensis as a variety within the description for Nephtys hombergii. McIntosh used the 'Nephthys' genus spelling, which is in line with the derivation of the genus name but not the spelling used by Lamarck. [details]From other sources
