Taxonomy Mesnil proposed "Nerinides" "pour l'espèce que de St-Joseph décrit sous le nom de Nerine longirostris Qfg." Note that at the time he and others regarded Scolelepis as a genus with frontal horns. As Mesnil's entity has no name (except possibly Nerinides stjosephi Jones (q.v.) it is unclear whether Nerinides has a designated type species. See also usage as Scolelepis (Nerinides). [details]
