Taxonomic remark Goës (1896) did not figured this variety but referred to Brady's plate 59 figure 26 of the Challenger report (1884). This figure was referred by Brady (1884) and Thalmann (1932) to Lagena orbignyana (Seguenza), by Barker (l960) to Fissurina orbignyana Seguenza and by Jones (1994) to Fissurina bradyiformata (McCulloch 1977) = [Lagenosolenia bradyiformata McCulloch 1977]. Lagena orbignyana var. elongata Goës, 1896 is a primary junior homonym of Lagena elongata Dunikowski, 1879; therefore Lagenosolenia bradyiformata McCulloch 1977 can be retained as a valid name in place of Lagena orbignyana var. elongata Goës, 1896, a junior homonym only as long as it is regarded as a synonym of the latter [art. 60.2 ICZN]. [details]
