Distribution Venus verrucosa occurs along the west coast of Scotland, the southwest of Ireland, the Irish Sea, the English Channel, Brittany (France), the Bay of Biscay south to the Iberian Peninsula, into the Mediterranean, to Madeira, the Canary Islands, the Cape Verde Islands, and down the western coast of Africa to Senegal, rarer in the south and again more common southward from Angola to Namibia, South Africa and even to KwaZulu-Natal. Not recorded from Sierra Leone to Cameroon. [details]
