Type material A holotype for C. tenuis was not designated but some syntypes are in the MFN, Berlin (22353). Five specimens, a mautre female and male and three juveniles (two males), were collected by the Valdivia from the Atlantic waters of the Guinean and Benguelen Currents, stn. 55 [02°36’N 03°27’E], 12 September 1898 and stn. 86 [28°28’S 06°10’E], 19 October 1898 and the equatorial Indian Ocean, stn. 221 [04°05’S 73°24’E], 2000–0 m, 22 February 1899; stn. 237 [04°45’S 48°58’E], 2000–0 m, 11 March 1899 and stn. 268 [09°06’N 53°41’E], 1 April 1899. Depths for some stns. not provided. A female (3.5 mm) and a male are illustrated by Wagler (1926). [details]
