Description Occurs in deeper lagoons and channels, and seaward reefs to a depth of 61 m (Ref. 1602). Common, omnivorus butterflyfish that feeds mainly on soft coral polyps (mainly on @Sarcophyton tracheiliophorum@ and @Litophyton viridis@), algae and zooplankton. The color changes little as it matures-the mark above the eye becomes bright blue to almost luminous. [details]
