Synonymy Auletta lyrata var. glomerata Dendy, 1905 from the Gulf of Mannar, approximate coordinates 9°N 79°E (wet holotype BMNH 1907.2.1.85), has been referred to the synonymy of Auletta aurantiaca Dendy (1889: 92, also from the Gulf of Mannar) by George et al. (2020), because Dendy himself (Dendy 1916) listed this species as a synonym of A. lyrata var. glomerosa, thus correcting the ignored seniority of aurantiaca. [details]
