Nomenclature Jaffé (1916) used the combination Potamolepis dura in the legends of figures 5-7, but in the title of the article and the text of p. 13 he used P. stendhelli. It is likely that he initially thought to name the species dura but changed it during the publication process. Technically, P. dura is an objective junior synonym of P.stendhelli or perhaps simply a misprint. [details]
