From editor or global species database
Authority Chaetozone cincinnata Augener, 1923 does not exist. The usage by Augener (1923: 81) recombined in Chaetozone is of Ehlers' (1908) species Heterocirrus cincinnatus. However, an error in the Hartman catalogue (1959: 401) lists the name as authored by Augener, and that it is a homonym, although, even if authored by Augener, it would not be a homonym. The mistaken authority as in Hartman was perpetuated in WoRMS from 2008 until detected and corrected in December 2018. Likewise the listing by Blake (2018: 20) of "Chaetozone cincinnata Augener, 1923" in a synonymy of Aphelochaeta cincinnata as an unresolved homonym, was not correct. [details]
Identification Apparent record of Aphelochaeta cincinnata for the subantarctic Auckland Islands, but needs to be checked against the original description and the redescription by Blake (2018) [details]From other sources
