Taxonomy Nolte (1941: 301) creates Kalaminochaeta and Kalaminochaetidae for larvae which Häcker (1898: plate IV) had left unnamed, but had treated together with Rostraria larvae. Nolte defines his Kalaminochaetidae larval forms, but only mentions the genus Kalaminochaeta, and the combination Kalaminochaeta lagostris (presumably the same taxon as Nolte's Kalymmaria lagostris in the same work) in a footnote exception to his description of Kalaminochaetidae [details]
