Etymology The name of the genus Grubeosyllis is composed with the name of the German zoologist Adolph Edward Grube (b. Königsberg, 18 May 1812 - d. Wrocław, 23 June 1880), and the name of the type genus of the family, Syllis. [details]
Homonymy Grubeosyllis is a new name proposed by Verrill (1900) to replace Grubea Quatrefages, 1866, as it was preoccupied by Grubea Diesing, 1858, a genus of trematode worms (Monogenea, Mazocraeidae). [details]
