Distribution Probably widely distributed [details]Remark Adema et al., 1989 list "(eier-) levendbarende alikruik" as the vernacular of this species. This is not correct: In north-west Europe there is only one marine gastropod which is ‘levenbarende’ (‘live bearing’) and that is Littorina saxatilis sensu stricto; NOT L. arcana which lays eggs like all other NW European marine gastropods (feedback provided by Ian Smith).
