Synonymy Probably a synonym of Gomophia egyptiaca Gray, 1840 according to A.M. Clark (1967), which Endean's (1965) Queensland record of G. egyptiaca supports. But a valid species extending to New Caledonia according to Jangoux (1986). However, the illustration given by Jangoux of "G. watsoni" shows very slender arms unlike the holotype of O. watsoni.
