Publication date Publication date of the name Dendronereis pinnaticirris is 1874 as Grube, in a precis of a meeting report, names the species in a footnote and provides a brief characterisation based on the arrangement of the dorsal cirri filaments. He does not state a type locality. On page 73 at the end of that report he states [translated] "The likewise previously mentioned new species of Dendronereis (D. pinnaticirris) and Leonnates (L. virgatus) is there [p. 58] provisionally sufficiently characterized and will later be described and illustrated in more detail.” Later, in Annulata Semperiana of 1878 Grube presents the full description. He does not mention the introduction of the name in the 1874 meeting report. [details]
