Diagnosis Original diagnosis by Claparède (1870: 452): "Ceratonereis longitudine 85-90mm, latitudine 5mm, carnea, subtus pallidior, segmentis cicra 83. Lobus cephalicus brevis, margine posteriore parum sinuato, fronte angusta. Cirri tentaculares mediocres. Pedes aequales, lingula media praediti. Segmentum primum secundo parum longius.[details]

Habitat Found persistently inside sponges: "Cette espèce n'est point fort commune aux environs de Naples, où elle habite constamment dans des éponges" (Claparède, 1870: 453). Type material collected during the winter 1868-1869. [details]
