Etymology The name of the genus is composed by the prefix of Greek origin rhino-, meaning 'nose' or 'noselike structure', and the name of the genus Thelepus Leuckart, 1849, type of the subfamily Thelepodinae Hessle, 1917, to which the new genus was assigned, and makes reference to the presence of a middorsal prostomial process or tentacular lobe.
