Checked: verified by a taxonomic editorEtymology The generic name is a combination of the Greek noun glossos, meaning 'tongue', and and the name of the genus Thelepus Leuckart, 1849, type of the subfamily Thelepodinae Hessle, 1917, to which the new genus was assigned, and refers to the expanded glandular tentacular lobe.  [details]
