Taxonomy Hallmann (1912) noted that Clathria dura var. mollis Hentschel, 1911 was distinctly different from Clathria dura Whitelegge, 1901. The name Clathria mollis was not an option, because this was preoccupied by C. mollis Kirkpatrick, 1903. Hooper & Wiedenmayer, 1994 proposed the present replacement name. [details]
