Taxonomy Augener (1926: 172) recorded Notomastus zeylanicus from Halfmoon Bay, Stewart Island, New Zealand, and placed under it as a synonym Capitellides dispar (Ehlers, 1907) from Auckland Harbour, New Zealand which is the type of Capitellides. The synonymy has not been followed by recent authors, who regard Capitellides as valid (eg Green, 2002) [details]Unreviewed
