Taxonomy Perhaps Fauvel first created the combination Perinereis nuntia var brevicirris as evidently specimens in the Paris museum identified by him were labelled with that name (fide Hutchings & Turvey, 1982, under Perinereis nuntia records for South Australia). Knox (1951) used that name for New Zealand worms, and much later Paik (1975) used it in the title of an article [details]Unreviewed
