Ecology This species is known only from hypogean habitats of the Gizeldon River Valley (Kobanskoe Gorge) near the village of Dargavz.

Etymology The species is named in honor of the renowned hydrobiologist and entomologist Susanna Konstantinovna Tchertchesova (Cherchesova) (North Ossetian State University after K.L. Khetagurov, Vladikavkaz), who made a significant contribution to the study of aquatic invertebrates in the North Caucasus.
