Comparison Parastraeomorpha, in general morphology similar to Astraeomorpha Reuss, differs from it in a lack of menianes and in development of synapticulae dominating over other horizontal skeletal structures. [details]

Diagnosis Thamnasterioid. Septa laminar, thin-trabecular. Columella styliform. Septal faces smooth or with rudimentary pennular expansions. Synapticulae large, independent of other structures. Dissepiments thin, rare. [details]
