Description Corallum cerio-phaceloid, made of short, polygonal corallites with the exception of corallites oval in shape at the corallum margin. Epitheca transversally plicate. No costae. Increase by Taschenknospung. Calice with an elongated, eccentric fossa in crescent. Radial elements are compact, free, of a variable thickness, unequal in lenght, straight or curved. The cardinal septum and a group of adjacent septa at its sides are parallel to each other, longer and thicker than other septa. Lonsdaleoid septa present. Lateral faces poorly ornamented. Bilateral symmetry marked by the cardinal septum slightly longer than others. Endotheca with dissepimental marginarium and the inner part made of subtabular and vesiculose dissepiments. No columella. No synapticulae. Wall pachythecal. [details]

Comparison The genus is close to Pseudopisthophyllum, from which it differs in a cerioid type of corallum only partly dissociating peripherally into a sub-phaceloid type, while the latter genus has exclusively phaceloid coralla made of long, well isolated corallites. [details]
