Comparison Cerioid Kompsasteria Roniewicz, 1989:30 is the only genus similar in the septal and endothecal structures. [details]

Diagnosis Phaceloid, increasing by marginal budding; costae lacking (radial elements of septal type); septal faces with sharp granules, inner margin dissociated into subhorizontal, thin trabecular projections; vesicular dissepiments large and crossing the lumen; wall epithecal. Microstructure: Midseptal zone showing trabeculae that turn from slightly declined from the vertical at periphery, to the subhorizontal level (observed in longitudinal section). Epithecal stereome thick. [details]
Remark Two species are known in the Late Triassic. [details]
Status Nomen substitutum replacing Cyclophyllia Roniewicz 1989: 26, a homonym of Cyclophyllia Milne Edwards et Haime, 1848, which is a junior synonym of Aspidiscus Koenig, 1825. [details]
