Comparison Similar to Coryphyllia, from which differs in septal apparatus differentiated into five size categories, and in the structure of wall which shows enlarged portions named wall segments. [details]
Description Pamirian species was described and illustrated in Melnikova 1975, and re-described with illustrations in Melnikova 2001: 42,43,pls.10,11. Alpine species were described and illustrated in Roniewicz 1996:13,pls.1-4. [details]
Diagnosis Solitary. Radial elements costoseptal in type, differentiated into 5 size orders; the S1 septa the thickest; the septa of the ultimate order frequently lonsdaleoid and discontinuous. Septal faces minutely granulated. Dissepiments homogeneous, vesicular. Wall epithecal showing enlarged parts (wall segments) in contact with radial elements of lower size orders. Microstructure: median septal zone straight, lateral stereome fibrous, poorly organized into fascicles. [details]
Remark There are known at least four species in the Norian and Rhaetian of the Tethys. [details]
