Comparison In the microstructure of septa and wall resembles Volzeia and Paravolzeia, but tabuloid endotheca (at least at the axial corallite part) and symmetrical, fissiparous division differentiate it from Volzeia characterized by small vesicules in the whole endotheca and separation of calices by a wall based on dividing septa; corallite division without dividing septal wall differentiates it also from Paravolzeia. [details]
Diagnosis Phaceloid. Increase intracalicular by symmetrical, fissiparous division without linkages between corallite centers and septal dividing wall. Radial elements with a straight mid-septal zone; in transverse section, centers dCRA of 10-20 µm in diameter. Septal apparatus differentiated into 2-3 size orders at the most. Septal sides with large and smooth crests paralleling distal septal margin and adequate to ondulation of septal blades. Endotheca built of rare tabuloid elements. Wall epithecal. [details]
Remark Two species are known in the Late Triassic. [details]
Status The coral was described among species of the following genera: Lithodendron Schweiger, 1819; Eunomia Lamouroux, 1821; Cladophyllia Milne Edwards et Haime, 1851; Goniocora Milne Edwards et Haime, 1851; Thecosmilia Milne Edwards et Haime, 1849 [details]
