Comparison In thick and straight septa made from thick trabeculae with lateral granules arranged in long series resembling menianes, as well as in arrangement of septa in decreasing series and in styliform columella, it resembles Omphalophyllia Laube, 1865. [details]
Diagnosis Diagnosis emended herein: Solitary and phaceloid growth form; corallites subcylindrical, with flat calicular surface; radial elements distributed in decreasing series (term introduced by Schindewolf 1942 and appied by Cuif do characterize septal arrangement in Rhopalophyllia); distal margin isodont, inner margin with trabecular projections; septal faces covered by flat granules with rounded margins, arranged in rows paralleling distal septa margin, and partly fused in a sort of pennules or menianes; trabeculae thick, in the septum their centers distant at ca. 200 micrometers; columella styliform, endotheca dissepimental; wall epithecal.
