Diagnosis A species of Sculpsitechinus, with low side profile, open rear ambulacral notches, large petalodium (anteroposterior size about 60% TL) and large Aristotle’s lantern (anteroposterior size=26% TL). [details]
Etymology Named after the country of origin. [details]
Type locality Chabahar Bay (25° 16’N, 60° 40’), Sistan and Baluchestan Province, South East coast of Iran. [details]
Type material Holotype: complete specimen CESI227 124 mm TL (Figs. 3–5, 6, 10, 11). Paratypes: complete specimen CESI228 (Table 1), 44.5 mm TL; and CESI234, TL=44.125 mm. [details]
