Diagnosis Colonial, massive, small knobby, hemispherical; plocoid, cerioid, submeandroid. Budding intra- and extracalicular. Septa compact, arranged radially in plocoid and cerioid types, consist of relatively small trabeculae (distance of calcification centers up to around 50 µm in septa), often arranged in two divergent systems. Costae confluent, or short and non-confluent. Lateral flanks of septa finely granulated (granules generally 20–40 µm) or smooth. Wall septothecal and parathecal with occasional pores. Peritheca vesicular or cellular, sparsely or well developed, upper surface finely beaded. Columella styliform, sublamellar, spongy-papillose, or formed by fused segments. Pali and paliform lobes present. Endothecal dissepiments sparse, vesicular to subtabular. Synapticulae absent or present, their occurrence being restricted to the wall. [details]
