Nomenclature The name Ulosa stuposa is based on Spongia stuposa Esper, 1794, a junior primary homonym of Spongia stuposa Ellis & Solander, 1786 (now Stelligera stuposa). A junior primary homonym is permanently unavailable (art. 57.2 of the Code) , which means that Ulosa stuposa must be renamed. The junior synonym Ulosa digitata (Schmidt, 1866 as Chalina) is available to replace U. stuposa as proposed by Van Soest et al. (2020). [details]
