Taxonomy De Laubenfels' (1950) and Little's (1963) Halicometes stellata is a Timea according to Hechtel (1969), who transfered it to Timea stellata. However, it is not the same species as Bowerbank's T. stellata (Bowerbank, 1866). Lehnert & Heimler, 2001 erected Timea hechteli for it. [details]
