Description Encrusting, 2-5 cm wide, 4-7 mm thick. Surface undulating translucent "skin" over meandering subdermal canals. Oscules less than 1 mm diameter and regularly spaced. Body barely compressible, brittle and slightly gritty. Colour icy blue to lavender, occasionally pale greenish-blue. Broods orange larve in pockets within sponge body. Habitat: overhangs on fringing reefs and under lower eulittoral boulders. Distribution: Indo-Pacific (Richmond, 1997). [details]
