Synonymy Kirkpatrick (1900) suggested that this species from Java is a synonym of his Spirastrella decumbens var. robusta. Comparisons of type material is necessary to decide, because decriptions of closely similar species in this genus / group are wanting. We prefer to keep them as separate taxa for the time being.
