Homonymy Previously, this has been considered a junior secondary homonym of Isodictya frondosa (Pallas, 1766, as Spongia). The homonymy was removed by the reassignment of Spongia frondosa Pallas, 1766 to Clathria Schmidt, 1862, because the assignment of Pallas' species to Desmacidon by Ehlers (1870), leading to the combination Isodictya frondosa, was domonstrated to be erroneous.
