Etymology Not stated in the original description. The specific epithet hirsutiseta is composed by the prefix of Latin origin hirsut-, meaning 'hairy', and the Latin noun seta, meaning 'bristle', and refers presumably to the presence of distally fimbriate chaetae in chaetiger 5: "Setiger 5 include a dorsal group of 3-4 peculiar truncated, distally fimbriated setae" (Blake & Kudenov, 1978: 245).
