Synonymy For Boxshall (1985) this species is no synonym of E. laticeps as consider Sewell et Matthews. Park (1993) does not mention the case of this form in his discussion concerning E. antarcticus which he considers as a valid species, but which Boxshall (1985) judges to be a junior synonym of E. placitus.
The synonymy between E. placitus and E. perodiosus is not accepted by Walter & Boxshall (2011) in World Copepoda database. [details]
