Etymology The name of the species was derived from Latin fimbria, fringe and referred to the terminal fringe on segment 11 as Higgins (1982, p. 315) wrote: "The prominent terminal fringe on tergal plate 13 is a unique character within the genus Kinorhynchus; none of the other eight species have this structure." [details]
