Etymology Not stated by the author. Blenda may refer to the namesake heroine found in Swedish legends and myths (J.G.H. Kinberg was Swedish himself), celebrated for her courage and cunning. According to the legend she gathered and led artfully a group of rural women from Småland against an invading Danish army, overcoming the invaders by hatching a plot to defeat them. [details]
